Harborside Parade 2008 FAQ

Q. When will the Parade Start?
A. 11:30 am, reaching the corner of Main and Harbor about 10 minutes later.

Q. What is the Parade Route?
A. Down Main Street, ending in the Skagit Farmer's Parking Lot

Q. Can my group still join?
A. Yes, but contact the Chamber offices by April 30th

Q. How early should I arrive?
A. Some roads start closing at 10 am, so be sure to leave plenty of time.

Q. What about parking?
A. Whidbey Sea-Tac Shuttle will offer a shuttle run from Freeland Park to the parade starting at 10 a.m.

Q. What about participant parking?
A. China City has again this year generously agreed to offer their parking lot to parade participants.

Q. Will there be a storefront decorating contest?
A. Yes. The contest will take place May 5th through May 9th. The entry theme is, "How Does Your Garden Grow?"

Q. What about road closures and roads re-opening?
A. Newman and Scott Roads down to Main and Harbor Road will close at 10:00 a.m. and stay closed until the parade ends. At 10:30 a.m. Harbor Road will close at State Route 525, East Harbor Road will close at Vinson and Main Street will close at the entry to the PayLess and WaMu Parking lots. Traffic will be allowed into and out of the Skagit Farmer's Parking Lot until the parade starts at 11:30 a.m. As the parade progresses and deputies feel it safe to open roads into town, they will be opened for traffic. Our primary concern is the safety of the public and access to the businesses while we celebrate our community.

Q. Will access to WaMu/Ace/Payless be cut off?
A. No. Traffic will be allowed in and out throughout the parade.

Q, Will access to the Whidbey Professional building be cut off?
A. No. Traffic will be allowed in and out throughout the parade.
